A Duck Out Of Water

The duck pond at the Burnie Park has been drained and they are doing some kind of digging in it. Not sure what they are doing to it....maybe cleaning it out.
There are still a few ducks hanging around the pond drinking the muddy slosh that is sitting in the bottom.

Today's sunset taken from the balcony. This time next week the sun won't be shining. End of daylight savings this weekend.

Earning His Keep

Gizmo doing what a cat should be doing.
One less pesky mouse...thanks Gizmo!

Guide Falls

This was the only photo taken at guide falls that was half decent.
I'm still not getting the hang of the light settings.
Need to do some more reading I think!

Mad Minute

Possum Hiding

Kosta wasn't to keen on coming inside this morning and we noticed he was hanging around a tree in the bottom of the garden.
I went out to investigate and after close inspection found a possum nestled in the branches.

Grandma Hits The Tramp

They say that as you get older that you revert back to childhood...Looks like I may have reached that point in my life.
It was fun while I was bouncing up and down...but not so good when I put both feet on the ground and started to walk.

What's in Dad's Vegie Garden?

This is a pic of one of the tomatoes that Dad grew in his vegie garden.. and boy was he proud of it!
The smaller tomato is an average sized one weighing 134grams and the monster one weighed in at 487grams.
These tomatoes have only just started to ripen so there might be more that are even bigger.

Jumping For The Camera

Yesterday Emma jumped around on the trampoline so that her Mum and I could practice with our cameras...Thank you Emma.

Nice Sunny Day

The weather was nice and warm today so we took Kosta to the beach at around 4 o'clock.
He had a play with another dog that liked swimming, so her master threw the ball in the water and we were hoping that Kosta would forget himself and follow her...but no way was he going in.
This photo shows how far he goes into the water...big wussy boy!

Feeding Time At The Park

Ian and I went out to the Park after tea in the hope of finding the Galahs that usually hang around there. When we pulled up there were four of them feeding on the grass but two moved away when I approached them. The other two stayed there and let me get quite close to them.

Who's A Pretty Boy!

I parked the car in town and then walked out to the park in hope of finding the Galahs feeding on the grass, but spotted only two up in a tree. When I tried to take a photo they flew away. The groundsman said that they usually come down to feed late afternoon, so I will have to go back later on this week.
Then I went around to the peacocks to see how the babies were growing..(haven't grown much in one week), and spotted the peacock and peahen.
I have never been able to work out why the males of the bird species are always the pretty ones...law says that females are vain but I think this proves that theory wrong.
